Het is alweer bijna een kwart eeuw geleden dat elbow ten tonele verscheen met het opvallende, indringende debuut Asleep in the Back. Inmiddels is de band met Audio Vertigo toe aan het tiende album en de sleet zit er zeker nog niet op. Voorganger Flying Dream werd, hoewel overschaduwd door corona in 2021, traditiegetrouw weer positief ontvangen, maar het was vooral het opvallend sterke Giants of All Sizes dat twee jaar daarvoor liet horen wat een bijzondere groep elbow toch nog steeds was. De band kan wijzen op een indrukwekkende, kwalitatief hoogstaande discografie die hier en daar zeker accentverschillen kent maar die toch opvallend hecht en coherent is. Audio Vertigo...
